Delete Temporary Files and Speedup Your Computer Performance

As you work on your computer every day, Windows continues to create temporary files in two major folders. One in the Windows Folder and another in the Temp Applications Folder. These files continue to be created every day and Windows never reuse it. Every time you open a software application a set of new temporary files are written. Even when you unzip a compressed file, the Windows writes the files first in to the temporary folder and then copies it into the folder you specified. If the files already exist then Windows will simply over write it. This means you do not need these files for reuse later.

Temporary Files Slow Down Your Computer Speed

These temporary files slow your computer speed drastically in many ways. The first is that  your computer hard disk gets filled up with junk and duplicate files. Secondly these junk files will increase the fragmentation of files which are written later. Fragmented files needs to be rejoined in the Memory or RAM before Windows can use it. This causes a delay in opening a file when you double click it. The fragmentation of files cause speed degradation in accessing data stored on your computer hard disk. All these will Slow Down your Computer Speed. The only solution is to delete these temporary files which Windows will never require as it will be re written in the temp folders.

  1. You’ll need the Vista DVD. Boot with the DVD in the drive. Let it reinstall Windows. Choose a full fomrat. After that, only the government can recover your data (it involves a clean room and a scanning electron microscope). If you don’t have the Vista DVD, the best you can do is delete all your programs and data files and run a scrubber program that overwrites all unused areas of the drive multiple times. The only problem with that is that it’ll probably take a day or two to run completely. It’s slower, but just as good to keep the average computer geek out of your data.

    • DON’T use a registry clenaer that you download online! Don’t allow anything but Windows to clean your registry! Hackers absolutely love to have access to your registry files so that they can get into your computer and take a look at all of your info.As far as making your computer faster, if you are a decently advanced computer user, you can try the Power Defragmenter I use. I can’t guarantee that your system will like it, all computers are different, but I have only ever heard good things. If you would like to, try JKdefrag. A power defragmenter is like windows defragmenter, but it is more efficient, and more thorough. The software also has some other features, and it’s free. I have never had an issue with it and I have been using it for two years. I have a pretty hardcore computer, and it runs like lightning.

    • Thanks! I am making pgorress, and the plan is to release a playable alpha real soon now ! Still want more from ZeeSpace, but I’ll see how far I get with that. I’ll release *something* soon, regardless. As to ZeeSpace; well, it’s basically just a combination of some ancient computer graphics stuff. Nothing special, really.

  2. Hello,(Vista) Have you tried using the dvd to restore the base OS files, thus bllaciasy replacing the base system core files.Another point that not many know is that you can reset the admin pwd using the dvd also. You can always boot using a knoppix cd/dvd with an external usb hd or a burner to burn off your files to dvd/cd.

    • copy your Mozilla Thunderbird email profile to a new ctumpoer Hi Lindy, Make sure you have show hidden folders enabled and navigate UsersAppDataRoaming on the drive you’ve attached to you ctumpoer.

      • Now that everyone has a large montoir, website size really doesn’t matter all that much..I tend to stick around 960px wide. Some times less.. It all depends on how much content is on the website and what looks good.

        • Great goods from you, man. I have understand your stuff preivous to and you’re just too excellent. I really like what you have acquired here, really like what you’re stating and the way in which you say it. You make it enjoyable and you still care for to keep it wise. • An outstanding share! I’ve just faoerrdwd this onto a friend who has been doing a little research on this. And he in fact bought me lunch because I discovered it for him lol. So let me reword this . Thank YOU for the meal!! But yeah, thanx for spending some time to talk about this issue here on your internet site.

    • Yes, you can move your files to the so called revcreoy drive . It is most likely just another partition. This means you have 1 hard drive, but you partition it so the computer treats it like it has 2 hard drives. Your friend probably did this on purpose. By putting all your important files onto the revcreoy drive , they should be safe if anything happens to the operating system on the C drive. As a result, you can format and re-install the Operating system on the C drive w/o affecting the files on the revcreoy drive .

  3. The same thing happened to me while using Windows Vista. 4. chances are not good, one thing to try is purchase an enloscure and try to use another comp to pull any wanted data pics, files, etc as a last ditch effort, put the hard drive in the freezer for about 30 mins and then try the enloscure again, if i didn’t work the first time that is

    • hey! your blog seems a little bit messy in my srfaai. I’m sure it’s just a matter of CSS compatibility (it’s easy to fix), and it’s a shame since I see your great job you did here. keep up the good work!

      • This is all very interesting. Out of the bowrser support for Silverlight is definitely big. I think ultimately Silverlight will be handled more like the Compact .Net Framework. Where it is essentially a subset of WPF and included part of the functionality available in the bigger WPF. We’ll see what happens, but it’s definitely going to be big.

    • Right-click your desktop baokgrcund.Select personalize’Click Change desktop icons’ at the top left.Select Recycle Bin’ from the list of options at the top.Your recycle bin will appear on your desktop again.Just for the record it is actually at C:recycler but it is a hidden system folder.

    • I would argue that it is user friendly, if you csnioder your user. If someone has the knowledge to edit/create a GeSHi language file, they obviously understands PHP and probably the language for which they’re making the file. It would be a simple matter for someone like that to write a WP plugin. Using a subclass allows you keep the original functionality intact, but alter what you need for your specific usage. • the constraint on nmuebr of function evaluations rubs me the wrong way. as far as i know GAs have had most success as offline optimizers so what is this strange fascination with limiting the nmuebr of function evaluations. and i don’t see GA algorithms being embedded in real time systems any time far as computational methods vs analytical methods go i feel its the guilt resident within us which makes us sigh when too many computations are needed to arrive at an answer.since we are talking multi-objective optimization anyways i suspect there might be a trade-off amongst computational effort and nearness to analytical solution. in such a scenario frowning upon computational effort is bound to put artifical limits on what can be achieved with computation my work at least i go full throttle ahead with the function evaluation ho holds barred. nature has two weapons0) large nmuebr of experiments1) lots of time.while we adopt the first idea we are rejecting the second.

    • I don’t know whether to kick myslef for not knowing these all this time or be happy I found these short cuts today. I guess I’ll choose to be happy . Anyway, these are GREAT to know. I especially like the simple zoom in function as my eyes aren’t as good as they used to be. Too much time on the computer, you see

  5. Top tab can be added using widget edntiig as explained in the tutorial. With a little CSS knowledge one can intergrate it into another blog as well, not just andreas02. You can also use the link list as tabs hack.Credits is 99% from andreas, 1! from me 🙂

  7. My husband and i got very comfortable when Raymond managed to do his survey from your precious recommendations he came across from your very own site. It is now and again perplexing just to be freely giving hints that many men and women could have been trying to sell. And we also see we’ve got the website owner to give thanks to for that. The main illustrations you have made, the simple website menu, the relationships you make it easier to create – it is mostly spectacular, and it’s really leading our son in addition to the family feel that that concept is brilliant, and that is incredibly mandatory. Thank you for all the pieces!

    • I’m very very curious about the furtue of WPF. I think MS will lose a lot of money if they do not improve WPF and it won’t be very smart if they merge the both technologies. I’m not sure about the furtue of WPF but I think that the key technology in the near furtue will be only Silverlight. I’m wondering whether there will be a Silverlight toolset coming from devcomponents. Something like you great Ribbon bar.

    • Microsoft is pushing Silverlight so they don’t fall biehnd Adobe like they did fall biehnd Flash on web animation stuff. Now they focus on Silverlight so that doesn’t happen with Adobe Air in RIA space It is good for us developers
